Care & Recovery Director | Gilbert | Full-time

Position Status: Full-time

Position Summary:

The Care & Recovery Director develops and leads teams of volunteers to walk alongside individuals and families who are in crisis, both in the church and local community, at assigned campus(es).  This position works with other campus counterparts to share best practices and resources when appropriate.  In all actions, this role reflects the SVCC team leadership distinctives.  

Essential Functions:
  1. Celebrate Recovery (CR)

a)    Recruit, train, empower and release CR Leadership Team to manage the ministry.  Recruit and train Step Study Leaders

b)    Attend CR at assigned campus, as scheduled. Oversee regular Leader meetings

c)    Respond to questions regarding CR by phone, email or in person

d)    Organize and manage other recovery groups, as needed

  1. Care

a)    Benevolence

·       Create and implement benevolence procedures for financial assistance

·       Act as point person for all benevolence requests

·       Recruit and manage Benevolence Team to assist with processing of requests

·       Field phone calls, review intake forms and determine eligibility for financial assistance

·       Organize and maintain records of all benevolence distributions and payments

b)    Care Support Groups

·       Recruit and train volunteers to lead support groups including, but not limited to, Mending the Soul, Grief Share, Single and Parenting, Divorce Care, Grieving the Child I Never Knew

c)    Professional Counseling

·       Respond to calls, walk-ins, and online requests for counseling and refer to professional counselors, when needed

·       Meet with and further relations with professional Christian counselors that may be used as referrals

d)    Prayer and Hospital Visitation

·       Recruit, train and oversee Prayer Team

·       Distribute weekly prayer requests to the team for follow up and record prayer requests in database program

·       Recruit, train and oversee Hospital Visitation Team, and perform hospital visits, as needed

e)    Funeral Support

·       Recruit, train and oversee Funeral Team

f)     Single Parent Blessing


·       Oversee annual single parent blessing events

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, and earned degrees and/or other training that has equipped them for the duties of the role
  • Two years of experience in related role
  • Demonstrates spiritual maturity and character consistent with the Biblical requirements for church leadership
  • Effective relational and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Self-motivated, self-directed requiring minimal supervision
  • Ability to implement and drive projects and strategies through to completion
  • Project management, creativity and problem-solving skills
  • Teamwork orientation with ability to recruit, train, shepherd, lead and motivate others
  • Thorough, detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Agrees and aligns with the vision, values, pathway, leadership distinctives, and doctrinal statement of SVCC

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Three years of related experience
  • Ordination or eligibility for licensure at SVCC
