Online Pastor | Central Services - All Campus Support | Full-time

Position Status: Full-time

Position Summary:

The Online Pastor leads Sun Valley Community Church’s (SVCC) initiative to help people who connect with SVCC through the online platform to take their next steps in their spiritual journey.  This position leads a volunteer team to execute SVCC’s engagement pathway to lead people towards relationship and responsibility (engagement) no matter where they live in the world, and leading those who are in a location near a SVCC campus to engage face to face at that campus. In all actions they reflect the SV team leadership distinctives.

This position is located in Gilbert, Arizona.  


Essential Functions:
  1. Host and provide chat and prayer opportunities during all online services through employing staff and a volunteer team for all platforms
  2. Provide leadership and ministry for the adults who first connect with SVCC online with an emphasis on connecting individuals to relationship and responsibility including attending, assimilation, Yes to Jesus, baptism, various groups, daily devotionals, giving, and serving
  3. Recruit, train, retain, and build a team of volunteers to lead and assist with online services and groups
  4. Collect, analyze, and utilize data to inform online strategy.  Execute the online and Next Steps ministry vision through strategic initiatives
  5. Provide leadership for staff and volunteers to further the SVCC culture of leadership, recruitment, training, development, and reproduction using best practices, systems, and ministry environments
  6. Encourage and lead staff and volunteers through prayer, spiritual direction, and the development of a fun, engaging, creative and relational team environment
  7. Connect people at SVCC to serving opportunities including online ministries, at a campus, in their community, and throughout the world through an international trip to one of our global partners
  8. Develop and manage Online budget
  9. Partner with Executive Team, Campus Pastors and SVCC campus staff to connect local online participants to local campus engagement
  10. Work centrally to support Next Steps ministry with groups, strategy, training, planning, and curriculum
  11. Follow up with new contacts weekly to engage with them online or help connect them to a local campus

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education and training that has equipped them for vocational ministry in a large ministry context
  • Two years of full-time related experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Office Suite, and various social media platforms
  • Demonstrates spiritual maturity and character consistent with the Biblical requirements for church leadership
  • Ordination or eligibility for licensure at SVCC
  • Strategic in nature, innovative thinker with ability to drive projects and strategies through to completion
  • Self-motivated, self-directed, requiring minimal supervision
  • Effective customer service, relational, and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Teamwork orientation with ability to recruit, develop and motivate others in a manner consistent with establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
  • Agrees and aligns with the mission, vision, leadership distinctives, and doctrinal statement of SVCC

Preferred Qualifications:

Three years of full-time related experience in a multi-site church setting of over 2000 members/attenders
