Video Storytelling Director | Central Services - All Campus Support | Full-time

Position Status: Full-time

Position Summary:

 

The Video Storytelling Director works collaboratively with the Creative Arts Team to produce story videos and other video content as needed for the weekend teaching and ministries of Sun Valley Community Church (SVCC).  This position contributes creative video ideas while also working under specific direction and oversees end-to-end video production from brainstorming and concept development to filming, editing, and distribution.  In all actions, this role reflects the SVCC team leadership distinctives. 


Essential Functions:

 

  1. Produce original video content for worship services and online, including story videos (long-form documentary personal testimonies), story vignettes (short-form ministry promos), and highlight videos, as needed. 

  2. Work collaboratively with Communication Team to integrate approved graphic elements into videos

  3. Provide purchasing recommendations and maintenance for video equipment

  4. Provide video production and consultation for SVCC short-term global trips and local outreaches.  Effectively direct and engage with others who are not familiar with video production process and techniques

  5. Develop and produce creative elements for seasonal services (Christmas, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, etc.) and ministry events (Kids and Student camps, etc.)

  6. Identify compelling story leads within the ministry areas of SVCC

  7. Recruit and develop a volunteer story team (film, photo, and written stories)

  8. Maintain, organize, and regularly update b-roll footage of every aspect of SVCC’s ministry

  9. Maintain archive of past video projects

  10. Maintain awareness of current trends in video production and equipment


Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, and education and training that has equipped them for the duties of the role
  • Two years of full-time video production/communications experience in a large church setting
  • Proficiency in operation of DSLR/HD cameras, ZOOM H4N audio capture, and lighting Proficiency in motion graphics and Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere Pro, After Effects and Audition
  • Strong design sense; passion and advocacy for visual storytelling
  • Creativity, imaginative aptitude, flexibility, and adaptability in a fast turnaround environment while meeting tight deadlines
  • Self-motivated, self-directed requiring minimal supervision
  • Effective relational skills; proficiency in communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Teamwork orientation with ability to recruit, train, retain, lead, and motivate others
  • Demonstrate spiritual maturity and character consistent with the Biblical requirements for church leadership
  • Strategic in nature with ability to drive projects and plans through to completion
  • Agrees and aligns with the mission, vision, leadership distinctives, and doctrinal statement of SVC

Preferred Qualifications:

 

Degree in video production, media, or related field, or equivalent experience
