POSITION SUMMARY
The SV Kids Director leads and manages the children’s ministry on their assigned campus. This position builds a robust and healthy team that creates excellent weekend environments for birth through 6th grade and partnering relationships with families. In all actions, reflects the Sun Valley Community Church (SVCC) team leadership distinctives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Execute the SV Kids vision through strategic planning, implementation and alignment with SV Kids’ constants and ongoing evaluation of SV Kids environment
2. Reproduce and advance the children’s ministry culture, best practices, systems, and ministry environments at assigned campus
3. Empower SV Kids staff and volunteers to lead the ministries of SV Kids through creating a culture of leadership recruitment, development, training, and reproduction
4. Encourage SV Kids staff and volunteers through prayer, spiritual direction, and development of a fun, engaging, creative and relational team environment
5. Build and leverage momentum within SV Kids to reach the surrounding community with the Gospel through a personal, unrelenting, and catalytic passion for the mission to help people meet, know, and follow Jesus
QUALIFICATIONS – To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, an/or ability required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and training that has equipped them for vocational ministry in a large ministry context
Demonstrated track record of spiritual maturity and character consistent with biblical requirements for church leadership
Three years of experience in a leadership role in a church or related setting working with children and teams of adult volunteers with a track record of leading teams through healthy ministry growth and progress
Strategic in nature, innovative thinker with ability to drive projects and strategies through to completion
Self-motivated, self-directed requiring minimal supervision
Effective team building skills and ability to motivate others
Effective customer service, relational and communication skills, both written and verbal
Agrees and aligns with the vision, values, pathway, leadership distinctives, and doctrinal statement of SVCC
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Four years full time related experience in a multi-site church setting of over 2000 members/attenders
