Communications Director | Central Services - All Campus Support | Full-time

Position Status: Full-time

Position Summary:

The Communications and Marketing Director is responsible for Sun Valley Community Church’s (SVCC) brand strategy, creative design, and internal and external communication strategies.  This position works in close partnership with the Worship Creative Director.  In all actions, this role reflects the SVCC team leadership distinctives.  

Essential Functions:

Leadership and Management

  • Recruit and manage all communications staff and creative teams
  • Collaborate with Lead Team for worship production to ensure a consistent experience at all campuses during weekend services
  • Collaborate with Campus Pastors to ensure consistent communication across campuses
  • Develop and oversee a system for workflow/management of creative requests from campuses

Communication Strategy

  • Work with the Executive Team, as well as Central Ministry Leaders to create a comprehensive communication strategy across all distribution channels to help SVCC fulfill its mission and goals
  • Work with Teaching Team, Central Ministry Team, and Worship/Production Team to create a communication plan for each message series
  • Work closely with CMT, Human Resources, and IT to develop regular effective channels of communication within staff and congregation
  • Engage in ongoing ROI and effectiveness assessment for all marketing and communication initiatives, both church-wide and campus specific, and update strategies accordingly
  • Work with Lead Pastor on strategic communication projects, ghost writing, social media, and personal brand coaching, as needed

Marketing and Brand Management

  • Oversee all marketing communications including branding, public relations, advertising, social media, market research management, and digital content
  • Ensure all content used to promote and represent SVCC is reviewed and reflects SVCC values and brand identity
  • Ensure communication practices at all campuses remains consistent with SVCC values, goals and church-wide ministries
  • Develop a system of collecting compelling stories that illustrate SVCC’s mission in action
  • Support Central Ministry Leaders in brand development for SVCC’s central ministries

Digital and Web

  • Develop a digital strategy that positions SVCC as the contextual and innovative church it is capable of being in an area so rich in technology
  • Create a digital strategy of conversion that distributes tailored content across digital platforms resulting in increased decisions for Christ and retention/engagement in SVCC community life
  • Provide oversight to all aspects related to improvement and maintenance of SVCC’s website and any other online or digital media platforms

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, and earned degrees and/or other training that has equipped them for the duties of the role
  • Two years of experience in related role
  • Demonstrates spiritual maturity and character consistent with the Biblical requirements for church leadership
  • Effective relational skills; proficiency in communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Self-motivated, self-directed requiring minimal supervision
  • Ability to create, develop, implement and drive strategies and projects through to completion
  • Project management, creativity and problem-solving skills
  • Teamwork orientation with ability to recruit, train, shepherd, lead and motivate others
  • Thorough, detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Agrees and aligns with the vision, values, pathway, leadership distinctives, and doctrinal statement of SVCC

Preferred Qualifications:
Three years of related experience
